We are excited to launch a new Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment center in Agawam, MA, serving adults on their path to recovery. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team from the ground up and play a key leadership role in shaping a strong, supportive treatment environment.
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, training, performance, and scheduling of the BHT team. This role ensures staff are well-trained, engaged, and aligned with client treatment goals while maintaining compliance, efficiency, and high standards of care.
The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who can provide clear direction, deliver constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative, accountable team culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and ongoing leadership to the BHT department

Monitor staff engagement and performance through regular rounding and observation

Develop and maintain BHT staff schedules, including cross-facility coverage to reduce overtime and improve efficiency

Collaborate with clinical and leadership teams to support program development and daily programming

Communicate clearly with staff through meetings and written communication logs

Assist with onboarding and training of new BHT team members

Develop and implement orientation, curriculum, and ongoing training programs

Evaluate training needs, department performance, and system changes; recommend improvements

Ensure documentation compliance within the department

Assist in client crisis intervention using the least restrictive interventions necessary

Coordinate transportation needs throughout the facility

Attend treatment team meetings, shift change meetings, and company meetings

Oversee confiscation procedures and inventory management of client belongings

Partner with Human Resources in recruitment and interviewing of BHT candidates

Participate in disciplinary processes and conduct performance evaluations

Complete all required trainings and mandatory training hours

Perform other duties as assigned
Leadership Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day guidance and management to Behavioral Health Technicians

Supervise BHT Leads and other BHT Supervisors, as applicable

Conduct daily facility rounding to ensure safety, structure, and quality of care

Promote accountability, professionalism, and adherence to policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Valid Driver’s License required
-
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
