Pyramid Healthcare’s Asheville Assertive Community Treatment (ACTT) team is seeking a licensed Substance Abuse Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A) to provide community-based substance use treatment to individuals with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel locally in the Asheville area to meet clients in the community and their homes

• Facilitate IOP, PHP, and MAT groups (day and evening), plus individual and family sessions

• Provide substance use interventions for clients with SMI/SMPI and co-occurring disorders

• Complete LOCAs, pre-authorizations, and utilization reviews in a timely manner

• Develop individualized treatment plans, NCTOPPs, and discharge/aftercare plans

• Maintain ongoing communication with families, referral sources, and support systems

• Participate in treatment team meetings and staff collaboration

• Rotate participation in emergency services/on-call coverage, including:

  • After-hours assessments

  • Crisis planning

  • Hospital diversion

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Active LCAS or LCAS-A required
  (LCAS-A candidates must be able to obtain full licensure within 90 days of hire)

• Qualified Professional status per 10A NCAC 27G.0104

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally

• ACTT, community-based, or co-occurring disorder experience preferred (not required)
