Join a Collaborative Team Delivering Community-Based Behavioral Health Care
Pyramid Healthcare is proud to expand its services in the Newport News area with the launch of a new Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). Our ACTT programs function as a “hospital without walls,” delivering high-intensity behavioral health services directly into the community to support individuals who may not otherwise have access to care.
ACTT is a multidisciplinary team that provides tailored, person-centered services—addressing mental health, substance use, housing, and vocational needs using evidence-based practices. Our work is grounded in outcome tracking and continuous quality improvement through collaboration with local and state partners.
We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support this important initiative and deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a flexible, field-based role.
Compensation:
33-39$ per hour.
Service Area Travel Expectations:
This is a community based role and you must be able to travel throughout the area as part of the ACTT Team.

Crisis phone rotation (includes one weekday and rotating weekends)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Coordinate client care with healthcare providers and ACTT team members
-
Monitor medication compliance and administer IM injections as prescribed
-
Manage pharmaceutical inventory and coordinate medication refills
-
Record vital signs and assist in managing doctor schedules
-
Complete AIMS assessments at intake and every six months
-
Educate staff and clients on medication use and side effects
-
Provide transportation to help clients access needed community resources
-
Deliver services in-home and in community settings
-
Participate in emergency/crisis response duties, including commitment procedures, after-hours assessments, and hospital diversion efforts

Other duties as assigned to support client stability and recovery
Qualifications:
-
Current RN license in Virginia (required)
-
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (preferably in behavioral health or community-based care)

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned region

CPR/BLS certification (required or must obtain upon hire)

Excellent communication, organization, and crisis intervention skills
-
Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and client-centered care
