Assessment Counselor

Our Duncansville inpatient team is seeking a compassionate and skilled Assessment Counselor to join our dedicated staff. This role is essential in evaluating client needs, facilitating admissions, and supporting individuals as they begin their treatment journey.
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct screenings and level-of-care assessments using clinical expertise
- Evaluate clients’ behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs
- Collect and document demographic and clinical history information
- Complete pre-certifications for managed care clients, as applicable
- Coordinate and facilitate the admissions process with the clinical team
- Identify appropriate levels of care and make referrals to community providers when needed
- Complete all assessment, admission, and required documentation in a timely manner (including ROIs)
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with program policies
- Provide brief individual therapy to engage clients in treatment
- Develop initial treatment plans and offer case management services
- Facilitate group therapy sessions as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and provide coverage when necessary
- Complete all required trainings and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Licensure:
- Master’s degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of relevant clinical experienc
- OR
- Active CADC or CAADC or Equivalent Licensure
