Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Location: Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay: $15.00 per hour

Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing direct support to individuals on their recovery journey in a structured, therapeutic environment.
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and supervision to clients receiving treatment services. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment while assisting clients in following their individualized treatment plans.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients
- Communicate effectively with team members through verbal updates and written documentation
- Provide direct client support and actively listen to treatment needs
- Maintain a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary
- Coordinate and facilitate scheduled activities, including educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings
- Conduct mandatory bed checks and complete detailed shift reports
- Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings
- Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans
- Monitor the medication line in accordance with policy
- Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred
