📍 Jacksonville, NC
💰 $18–$19 per hour (based on experience)
🕒 Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM | On-Call Required

About the Role

Pyramid Healthcare is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Lead for our outpatient program in Jacksonville, NC. This is a leadership role for an experienced BHT who wants to support staff, coordinate daily operations, and ensure high-quality client care in a structured outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to BHT staff

  • Communicate client updates and shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

  • Assist with scheduling and staffing coverage

  • Support new client intake and orientation

  • Document client progress, incidents, and daily logs accurately

  • Observe and document medication self-administration per protocol

  • Coordinate and supervise therapeutic activities and programming

  • Respond to behavioral crises and ensure client safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment

  • Assist clients with daily living needs and dietary support

  • Complete required trainings and maintain regulatory compliance

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1+ year experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or healthcare

Preferred:

  • 2+ years behavioral health experience

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • Prior leadership or charge experience

Skills:

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and professionally

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory compliance standards

  • Team leadership and problem-solving abilities


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and assist clients as needed

  • Frequent use of hands and arms; occasional bending, kneeling, and crouching


Work Environment

  • Outpatient clinical behavioral health setting

  • Moderate noise level and client interaction

  • Possible exposure to infectious diseases and psychiatric emergencies

  • Local travel may be required; reliable transportation needed
