Clinical Director – Inpatient & Outpatient Programs
Location: Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time (On-Site)
License Required: LCSW or LPC (Virginia)
Experience Required: 3–5 years in a clinical leadership role

Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead and support our clinical services across both inpatient and outpatient levels of care.
About the Role:
The Clinical Director is responsible for the oversight and strategic development of all clinical services within the facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while fostering a high-performing, compassionate, and effective clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all clinical functions, including assessments, individual and group therapy, family programming, aftercare planning, utilization review, and crisis intervention.

Provide supervision and professional development for all clinical staff, including onboarding, ongoing training, treatment team leadership, and clinical documentation review.

Collaborate with program and corporate leadership to drive continuous improvement and execute the clinical strategic plan.

Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, client engagement, and quality assurance processes.

Oversee curriculum development and implementation of evidence-based practices in partnership with divisional clinical leadership.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards and represent the program in internal and external audits.

Participate in operational reviews, marketing meetings, and address issues related to documentation, EMR, billing, and program efficiency.

Manage clinical crisis needs and provide stabilization support as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise all clinical staff, ensuring appropriate training, support, and adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:

Required: Active Virginia license as LCSW or LPC

Required: Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, substance use, or human services

Strong knowledge of clinical best practices, compliance standards, and staff development strategies

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
