Clinical Supervisor – Inpatient Programs
Location: Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time (On-Site)
License Required: LCSW or LPC (Virginia)
Experience Required: 2–3 years of clinical experience, with prior supervisory experience preferred

Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to oversee and support our inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment programs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding a clinical team that provides 24/7, high-quality care to individuals in recovery.


About the Role

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the clinical oversight and coordination of inpatient treatment services. This includes ensuring effective delivery of care, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards, and fostering a therapeutic environment where clients can achieve stability and growth. The position works closely with program leadership to implement evidence-based practices and promote a culture of collaboration and excellence in care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to inpatient clinicians, counselors, and behavioral health staff.

  • Oversee clinical programming and therapeutic services, including assessments, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and discharge planning.

  • Review and ensure accuracy and timeliness of clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and professional development of clinical staff.

  • Participate in daily treatment team meetings to support clinical decision-making and case management.

  • Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives, programming enhancements, and compliance efforts.

  • Provide clinical oversight and support during crisis interventions and high-risk situations.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to assigned clinical and support staff.

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and licensing/accreditation standards.

  • Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for staff, promoting professional growth and clinical excellence.


Qualifications

  • Required: Active LCSW or LPC license in Virginia

  • Preferred: Prior supervisory or leadership experience in inpatient behavioral health or substance use treatment

  • Strong knowledge of clinical best practices, documentation standards, and ethical guidelines

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
