Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals for clients and staff in accordance with established policies, standards, and food safety regulations. This position ensures that all kitchen operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in a sanitary manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus.

• Ensure all food preparation meets quality, portion, and presentation standards.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment at all times.

• Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations throughout all food handling.

• Accurately determine quantities and adjust recipes as needed for meal service.

• Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions as directed.

• Complete required documentation (e.g., temperature logs, cleaning schedules).

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils.

• Support the receiving, rotation, and proper storage of food and supplies.

• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly.

• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professionalism with staff and clients.

• Participate in all required training sessions and maintain certifications.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.

• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.

• ServSafe certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
