Intensive Outpatient Therapist – Adults (Co-Occurring MH/SUD)

Position Overview

The Intensive Outpatient Therapist provides clinical services within our Adult IOP program, delivering group-based treatment, completing assessments, and supporting clients across the continuum of care.

Schedule Options

  • Option 1: Monday–Thursday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM, with flexible daytime hours on Friday

  • Option 2: Four-day workweek, Monday–Thursday, 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM (3-day weekend)Please note: occasional Friday availability may be required to provide program coverage or clinical support.

Salary: $53,000–$55,000 annually, depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) group therapy for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

  • Provide individual therapy sessions.

  • Complete approximately 6–8 Level of Care Assessments per week, based on program needs.

  • Prepare group materials and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.

  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

  • Assess and monitor clients’ behavioral, emotional, and substance use needs throughout treatment.

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, referral sources, and internal team members.

  • Complete insurance reviews, and document progress notes.

  • Meet productivity expectations while maintaining high clinical standards.

  • Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including providing crisis intervention when necessary.

  • Uphold ethical standards and support overall program operations as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

  • Experience working with complex clinical presentations, including psychosis, strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical evaluation.

  • Experience facilitating individual and group therapy and engaging families in treatment.

  • Strong documentation skills with a commitment to ethical and professional practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse adult populations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in  psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field, including completion of a clinically based internship.

  • Prior experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
