Kitchen Associate (Full Time)

Summary: The Kitchen Associate assists with meal preparation and serving; cleaning of dishes, utensil, equipment and pots and pans; cleans and organizes the kitchen, work areas, dining room, and serving areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides assistance with all dietary functions as directed in accordance with established department policies and procedures.
• Assists with preparing and serving meals following established food safety standards and guidelines.
• Serves meals in accordance with established portion and quality standards.
• Performs daily and/or scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils and equipment according to established procedures and return to storage areas.
• Disposes of food and waste in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
• Assists with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of food service work areas, dish room and storage areas.
• Sweeps and mops floors as assigned.
• Restocks food, beverages and supplies for meal service.
• Assists in the receiving, rotating and storage of food and supplies.
• Provides excellent customer service to clients.
• Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the Dining Services Manager or Supervisor.
• Promptly reports workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
• Assists with Cook responsibilities as assigned.
• Completes required trainings and mandatory training hours
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications
Licensure, Education & Experience
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain upon hire.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation. Incumbent may be exposed to viruses, diseases, and/or infections from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
