Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Day Shift
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
About Us:
Pyramid Healthcare’s Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center in Newport News provides 24/7 medically-supervised, evidence-based care for adults in need of detoxification and stabilization. Our structured, non-hospital setting serves the Virginia Peninsula, including the Tidewater region and parts of Hampton Roads. Clients participate in therapeutic programming and receive support from a multidisciplinary team dedicated to long-term recovery and mental wellness.
Summary:
Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the night shift, providing essential nursing care in a detox and stabilization environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clients through the detoxification process, ensuring their safety and well-being during the quiet night hours.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct nursing assessments for new admissions during overnight hours.
- Administer medications in accordance with medical protocols and monitor client response.
- Apply detox protocols and perform regular COWS and CIWA assessments as needed.
- Monitor vital signs, document observations, and respond to emergent needs.
- Provide support and reassurance to clients during detox and stabilization.
- Communicate with on-call providers and assist with any overnight medical needs.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment during overnight hours.
Qualifications:
- Active LPN license in the state of Virginia
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute, residential, or outpatient care setting
- Preferred: Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment
