Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Full Time & Part Time
Location: Newport News, VA | Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts Available (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
About Us:
At Pyramid Healthcare’s Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center in Newport News, we are proud to provide 24/7 medically supervised, evidence-based care for adults in need of detoxification and stabilization. Our structured, non-hospital setting serves the Virginia Peninsula, including the Tidewater and Hampton Roads regions. Clients participate in therapeutic programming while receiving support from a multidisciplinary team focused on long-term recovery and mental wellness.
Summary:
We invite you to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where you will play a vital role in delivering nursing care within our detox and stabilization environment. In this role, you will collaborate with medical and clinical staff to support clients through withdrawal management and recovery, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of care across a 24-hour treatment setting.
Responsibilities

Complete nursing assessments upon admission and throughout the client stay

Administer medications in accordance with provider orders and monitor client response

Implement detox protocols, including CIWA and COWS assessments as indicated

Monitor vital signs and withdrawal symptoms; identify and respond to changes in condition

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and client progress in the medical record

Communicate with providers regarding client status and assist with medical needs

Provide education, reassurance, and emotional support to clients during detox and stabilization

Collaborate with counselors, medical staff, and leadership to ensure coordinated care

Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and structured treatment environment

Follow infection control, medication storage, and safety procedures in accordance with policy and regulation
Qualifications

Active LPN license in the state of Virginia

Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification

Preferred: experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment
