Medical Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our medical and clinical teams during third shift operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate documentation, smooth admissions, and quality patient care in a behavioral health setting.

Pay & Schedule
- Full-Time 3rd Shift 7pm-11am (Must Work Every Other Weekend)
- $16/hr (+shift differential)
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Care Support
- Assist with client admissions and consent processes
- Obtain and document vital signs and urine drug screens
- Communicate changes in client status to the medical and treatment team
Medical & Administrative Support
- Complete lab requisitions on admission and as needed
- Monitor lab results and review findings with the medical team
- Answer phone calls and provide general administrative support
- Maintain accurate documentation, filing, and chart updates
- Create and distribute client admission packets
Care Coordination
- Support prior authorizations and medication ordering processes
- Schedule follow-up medical appointments and external referrals
- Collaborate with clinical and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care
Operational Support
- Assist with additional tasks to support the medical department and facility operations
- Maintain organization and efficiency during overnight shifts
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
- Medical Assistant certification or degree
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use treatment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently during overnight shifts
- Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Strong teamwork and ability to collaborate across departments
