Nurse Manager (RN) – Inpatient Detox and Rehabilitation
Location: Pyramid Healthcare, Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Call Rotation Required

At Pyramid Healthcare – Newport News, we provide structured, client-centered treatment for adults with Substance Use Disorders in a supportive, residential environment. As a recognized leader in addiction recovery, we deliver innovative, evidence-based care backed by a collaborative clinical staff and dedicated leadership team.
We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care for individuals on their recovery journey.

What You’ll Do:

Provide clinical oversight, leadership, and support to nursing staff
-
Identify and manage care for high-risk clients
-
Ensure accuracy of the bed board and coordinate with Admissions
-
Support prior authorization processes and detox protocols
-
Lead shift management during peak hours, including organizing staff schedules
-
Review and sign-off on MARs, labs, and physician orders
-
Coordinate pharmacy needs and manage sample medications
-
Maintain infection control standards and oversee HCG testing protocols
-
Address client grievances and collaborate with the Director of Nursing on staff matters
-
Participate in treatment team meetings, unit meetings, and risk management reviews
-
Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and support physician care as needed
-
Serve on-call and provide direct coverage when required
What We’re Looking For:
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (required)

Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience (preferred)

Strong knowledge of detox protocols, medication management, and documentation best practices

Familiarity with state regulatory standards and best practices for residential SUD treatment
