About Us

Pyramid Healthcare, a leader in behavioral health and substance use treatment, is proud to expand services with a brand-new facility in Concord, NC. This program includes both detox and residential services, starting with 32 beds and growing to approximately 80 beds in Phase 3 of development. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager who is excited about the rare opportunity to hire their own nursing staff and build a team from the ground up while shaping a high-quality program for individuals in recovery.

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and agency standards of care, and maintaining high-quality clinical services. This leadership role includes hiring and developing nursing staff, managing schedules, supervising detox protocols, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting admissions. The Nurse Manager also collaborates with facility leadership to maintain compliance, support growth, and deliver exceptional patient care. This position requires on-call availability to ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a new nursing team by hiring, training, and mentoring staff.

  • Oversee nursing services and collaborate with operations and medical teams to ensure high standards of care.

  • Manage nursing schedules across full-time, part-time, and PRN staff to ensure proper coverage (RN + LPN on each shift).

  • Serve as on-call 24/7; provide RN shift coverage when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with nursing policies, protocols, and detox procedures, including vitals, COWS/CIWA assessments, and admissions processing.

  • Maintain accurate EMR/MAR documentation, DEA logs, and narcotic count sheets.

  • Conduct nursing chart audits to ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness.

  • Work closely with the Program Director to align staffing needs with program growth and ensure staff practice within their licensure scope.

  • Support a positive and effective work culture by addressing staff and client concerns promptly.

  • Participate in state reviews, audits, and compliance preparation.

  • Ensure completion of all required training for self and staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly oversees all nursing staff, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, supervision, and compliance management, ensuring the delivery of quality care in a growing detox and residential facility.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in North Carolina (required).

  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications (required).

Experience

  • 2–3 years of nursing experience in a behavioral health treatment setting (preferred).

  • Experience in Substance Use Treatment and Co-occurring Disorders (preferred).

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical judgment and crisis management skills.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.

  • Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement improvements.

  • Knowledge of federal and state standards and compliance requirements.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • May be exposed to infectious diseases or traumatic psychiatric situations.

  • Requires reliable transportation and ability to respond to on-call needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 – $80,000/year (based on experience and qualifications).
