Pyramid Healthcare, a nationally recognized leader in behavioral health and addiction treatment, is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Counselor to join our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program in Pittsburgh. Our outpatient center provides evidence‑based, client‑focused therapy that supports individuals on their path to long‑term recovery.

- Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 8:00am–4:00pm
Wed: 11:00am–7:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling and group therapy to clients participating in outpatient SUD treatment.
- Conduct client intake assessments, identify treatment needs, and help develop individualized care plans.
- Assist with daily program operations, including assessments, utilization reviews, and clinical documentation.
- Complete insurance and utilization reviews to support treatment authorization.
- Maintain an assigned caseload and deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
- Participate in shift change meetings, staff meetings, and required trainings.
- Support the Program Director in managing program coverage and service needs.
- Maintain accurate, compliant client records and perform associated clerical tasks.
- Provide crisis intervention and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Engage clients with empathy, active listening, and a commitment to compassionate care.
- Complete all mandatory training requirements and continuing education hours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field
OR - Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus at least one year of clinical experience
OR - Certification as an addictions counselor from a recognized statewide or national certification board
