Program Assistant – ACTT Team (Certified Medical Assistant Required)
Location: Williamston, NC
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Includes Benefits
Pay Rate: $17–$18 per hour (based on experience)

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Program Assistant to support our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Williamston, NC. This is a full-time role supporting a multi-disciplinary team that provides community-based care for individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.

Our ACTT Team in Rocky Mount NC is currently relocating to Williamston NC in September 2025. Candidates will need to be able to reliably commute to Williamston for this role


About the Role:

As Program Assistant, you will coordinate all non-clinical operations of the ACTT program and provide essential medical support services as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). You’ll ensure smooth documentation, client communication, and clinical assistance to help the team deliver high-quality, person-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

Administrative & Clinical Coordination

  • Manage and maintain accurate mental health medical records

  • Scan, upload, and archive discharge and clinical documentation

  • Track and monitor service authorizations, PCP updates, NC-TOPPS, chart audits, and monthly visit templates

  • Maintain internal tracking systems and alert leadership to trends or overdue items

  • Call clients to confirm doctor appointments and follow-up needs

  • Prepare intake packets, update forms, and manage stock of program materials

  • Cover phones and front desk during lunch, vacation, or holiday breaks as needed

Medical Assistance (CMA Duties)

  • Obtain and record vital signs, capillary blood sugars, and urine specimens

  • Administer injections as directed by licensed physician

  • Monitor and report any significant changes in clients' medical conditions to clinical staff

  • Ensure compliance with all documentation and clinical protocols


Required Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in the mental health or healthcare field preferred

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) strongly preferred

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional demeanor with high ethical standards

  • Comfortable using phones, computers, scanners, and office software
