Pyramid Healthcare is proud to announce the expansion of its Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) services to the Newport News area. ACTT provides a “hospital without walls” model—bringing intensive behavioral health services into the community to support individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment, outcome tracking, and collaborative partnerships with local and state agencies.

As we launch this critical program, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prescriber to serve as a key medical provider on our ACT team.

Position Overview:

The ACTT Prescriber is a central clinical role, delivering direct psychiatric care, providing medical oversight, and supporting integrated treatment planning across a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide community-based psychiatric care in collaboration with ACTT leadership and clinical team members.

• Conduct daily field visits as directed by the ACTT Team Lead and/or Director.

• Oversee and support prescribing practices of ACTT mid-level providers.

• Participate in ACTT treatment team meetings to contribute to clinical care planning and coordination.

• Serve as the lead medical liaison for ACTT communications with LME/CMOs.

• Maintain clear and timely documentation using the agency’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

• Ensure all care provided meets clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards.

• Complete all required trainings per company and accrediting/licensing requirements.

• Adhere to confidentiality standards and exercise sound clinical judgment.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician (MD/DO) license in the state of Virginia

• Must be qualified to provide psychiatric services

• ACTT experience and training preferred

• Valid CPR/BLS certification

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the designated ACTT service area

• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills

• A collaborative spirit and commitment to recovery-oriented, community-based care

Location & Travel:

This position requires travel across service area in support of clients receiving ACTT services in their homes and communities.
