💲 $50,000 – $60,000/year (commensurate with licensure and experience)

Pyramid Healthcare of Asheville is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our compassionate, client-centered team. If you’re passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use challenges and want to be part of a supportive, mission-driven organization, we want to hear from you.


💼 What You’ll Do:

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based, holistic care to clients working toward recovery. You will:

  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions

  • Complete behavioral assessments and collaborate on treatment planning

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in our electronic record system

  • Engage in utilization review and aftercare planning

  • Support crisis intervention and provide Level of Care Assessments as needed

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and on-call rotation

  • Help cultivate a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients


🎯 What You Bring:

  • Required Licensure: LCAS, LCAS-A, or Fully Licensed CADC

  • Education:

    • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field

    • Accepted: High School Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree with CADC

  • Passion for supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team

  • Experience in trauma-informed care, mental health, or eating disorders is a plus
