Altoona, PA – November 11, 2025 – Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. has announced the launch of Project Resilience, a nationwide expansion of the leading behavioral healthcare organization’s dedicated service line for veterans. Veteran-friendly substance use, mental health, co-occurring and eating disorders treatment programs tailored to support those who have served our country are now available at locations throughout the eastern U.S.

As demand for veteran-specific, trauma-informed behavioral healthcare continues to rise, Project Resilience aims to bridge the gap, reaching as many veterans as possible with compassionate, evidence-based care. Project Resilience treatment teams have earned PsychArmor Veteran Ready Organization certification, showcasing their commitment to creating an environment where veterans feel understood, respected and supported.

Project Resilience offers treatment for veterans at all levels of care, including medically supervised detox, residential and outpatient programs. Experienced therapists utilize specialized trauma treatment modalities, such as Seeking Safety and the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM). Specific therapies and levels of care offered vary by facility. For detailed information, referring professionals, veterans and family members may call (888) 694-9996.

“The ultimate goal of Project Resilience is to connect veterans with efficacious, high-quality care in a timely manner,” said Dr. Kenneth Richter, Chief Clinical Officer at Pyramid Healthcare, decorated three-time combat veteran, Purple Heart recipient, international healthcare leader, board-certified psychiatrist and retired Navy Captain. “We’re striving to overcome barriers to care, such as long wait times, skepticism about the effectiveness of treatments, care deserts in rural areas and stigma, so that more veterans are able to get the help they need.”

As proud members of the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN), all Project Resilience sites accept VA benefits and TRICARE, streamlining referrals and eliminating financial hurdles for all eligible veterans. Whether staff are veterans themselves, have deep familiarity with military experiences or extensive training in treating issues such as military sexual trauma (MST), PTSD and moral injury, Project Resilience offers judgment-free spaces attuned to the challenges their clients face.

“The mission of Project Resilience is to provide accessible, culturally competent support that addresses the unique challenges of military service, deployment and reentry into civilian life,” said Jason Hendricks, CEO of Pyramid Healthcare. “This expansion is our promise to meet veterans where they are, reducing barriers to effective care and empowering them to reclaim their lives.”

By participating in Project Resilience, veterans also gain access to Pyramid Healthcare’s integrated network of programs. Founded in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1999, Pyramid offers a full continuum of care for substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders at more than 80 locations across Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Project Resilience represents a continuation of Pyramid Healthcare’s dedication to transforming lives through compassionate, innovative care.
