NJ Assemblywoman Katz Visit to Hammonton 2

Hammonton, NJ – March 1, 2024 – Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. welcomed New Jersey Assemblywoman Andrea Katz today at its Hammonton facility. Assemblywoman Katz toured the Detox and Residential Treatment Center, learning about Pyramid Healthcare’s detox, short- and long-term recovery programs. She also met with facility leadership and staff to discuss how Pyramid Healthcare and her office can work together to support substance use recovery efforts in New Jersey’s 8th Legislative District.

“I was grateful for the chance to see the important work Pyramid Healthcare does first-hand and meet the people who are committed to making recovery accessible to all who seek treatment,” said Assemblywoman Katz. “Atlantic County had the state’s fourth-highest amount of suspected drug-related deaths in 2023. Recovery programs, like the ones provided at Pyramid Healthcare, offer people a much-needed life-line and chance to treat their substance use disorders so they can get healthy and lead happy and productive lives.”

Pyramid Healthcare’s Hammonton facility serves more than 2,000 clients a year, all of whom are Medicaid patients. The facility has 194 residential treatment beds, including inpatient withdrawal management, short-term residential and long-term residential beds. Residential treatment includes medical assessment and management, counseling, targeted education, and case management. The facility also helps clients with discharge and aftercare planning.

“We are happy to welcome Assemblywoman Katz to our Hammonton Facility, and showcase the life-changing work our dedicated staff commit to each day,” said Anne Roberts, Executive Director, Hammonton Facility, Pyramid Healthcare. “Our clients come to us as a first step to recovery, and we accept all adults who want help for their substance use disorders while being treated with care and dignity.”

“Today’s visit was an opportunity to talk about the work we do and demonstrate the need for investment in substance use and behavioral health treatment in New Jersey,” said Dominic Barone, Vice President of Operations, Hammonton Facility, Pyramid Healthcare. “Meaningful investment into recovery programs is the only way we can keep saving lives and fight the stigma of substance use. We are grateful to Assemblywoman Katz for taking the time to learn more about the stories of real people battling this disease.”
