Evans, GA – May 31, 2023 – Held during Mental Health Awareness Month and attended by a number of community leaders, High Focus Centers’ open house on May 11 highlighted their recently opened Evans, GA outpatient facility. This program offers expanded access to quality mental health, substance use and/or co-occurring disorder treatment for residents of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).

For over 20 years, High Focus Centers has been at the forefront of helping individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. With a team of experienced and compassionate professionals, the organization offers evidence-based treatments and services aimed at facilitating lasting recovery and improved mental wellness.

The recently opened CSRA facility upholds High Focus Centers’ commitment to exceptional care by providing outpatient and intensive outpatient programs for substance use disorders. Additionally, the facility offers individual and group therapy for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions for individuals aged 12 and older.

“During Mental Health Awareness Month, I am encouraged to see investments in mental health facilities in our communities,” expressed Representative Rick Allen.

The expansion into the CSRA area was the result of a critical need for quality mental health and addiction treatment services. Georgia, as reported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), ranks among the states with the highest rates of substance use and mental illness. High Focus Centers’ presence in the CSRA area endeavors to help bridge this gap by equipping individuals with the necessary resources and support to overcome these challenges and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

“As a pastor and a public servant, I am deeply committed to the well-being and prosperity of people in communities all over Georgia, which is why I am thrilled High Focus Centers is expanding their comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment services to the Central Savannah River Area,” expressed Senator Reverend Warnock. “This critical mental and substance use disorder health care investment can create a brighter future for our fellow Georgians, ensuring they have the necessary tools to lead fulfilling lives. Together, we will continue striving to improve behavioral health outcomes and foster a stronger, healthier Georgia for all.”

Scott Johnson, County Manager for Columbia County, GA, stated, “I appreciate the compassionate work that High Focus Centers are bringing to Columbia County and the surrounding areas. Partners like this make us healthier and stronger.”

“I live and work in the CSRA and recognize firsthand the importance of and the need for high quality behavioral health services in Evans, Augusta and Aiken, SC alike. High Focus Centers is thrilled to bring expertise to the CSRA and be recognized as an integral part of the communities it serves,” stated Marlea Bodie, GA LCSW, SC LISW-CP, and Executive Director of High Focus Centers in Evans, GA.
