Asheville, NC – July 28, 2022 – Real Recovery, a member of the Pyramid Healthcare family of behavioral  healthcare treatment companies, hosted state Rep. Caleb Rudow, D-Buncombe and state Treasurer Dale R. Folwell, CPA at Real Recovery’s outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program located at 119 Tunnel Road in Asheville, North Carolina on July 25, 2022.

State Rep. Rudow and Treasurer Folwell praised Real Recovery and presented the program with a check issued by the Department of State Treasurer’s (DST) Unclaimed Property Division (UPD) for $13,342.00 that Real Recovery has earmarked for the treatment of adults with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders in Asheville and surrounding North Carolina communities.

“Every person has worth, and everyone deserves a second chance. Real Recovery offers effective treatments and services for substance use, not only for rehabilitation but in developing skills to cope with challenging circumstances that can lead to lifelong recovery,” Treasurer Folwell said. “Restoring dignity and motivation to those who have faced some of life’s darkest challenges helps them to experience the joy of achievement and upward mobility as productive North Carolinians.”

“Programs like Real Recovery help people get back on their feet. We’ve started to realize over the past few years how important mental health is to all of us and how important it is to get people the services they need to recover. That kind of work is invaluable,” Representative Rudow remarked.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to host state Rep. Rudow and Treasurer Folwell today at Real Recovery. It was our pleasure to showcase the lifesaving mental health and substance use treatment available for the adult and adolescent residents of Asheville and surrounding communities, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the state of North Carolina in the future,” stated Katharina Zunk, Vice President of Operations for Pyramid Healthcare.

Real Recovery also operates sober living residences and a structured transitional program at two additional locations in Buncombe County that offer an extended care recovery community inclusive of vocational and educational support, life skills instruction, sober outdoor activities and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for adult men and women with substance use and/or mental health disorders.
